Day No: 1
Description: Arrival in Sri Lanka, to be met by a representative of Jetwing Travels and transferred to Kandalama (145 km.- 3 to 3 ½ hours).
Relax in hotel.
Evening see how Mr. Bawa has designed the hotel to blend it with the surrounding rocks, Jungle and the Kandalama Lake.
Evening see a video film on Bawa's architectural reations.Dinner & overnight stay at the **KANDALAMA HOTEL, Kandalama.

Day No: 2
Description: Morning visit Sigiriya - the “Fortress in the sky”, of the 5 th century King Kassayapa, who turned a massive rock massif
into a beautiful architectural marvel, which is now a “World Heritage Site”
See the fortifications, pleasure gardens where he has used the rock boulders & caves in to Eco-friendly gardens,
frescos of the beautiful damsels, graffiti on the mirror wall, lion staircase and the ruins
of the palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock.
Then leave for Polonnaruwa. On the way you have a fair chance of seeing wild Elephants
while driving through the Minneriya National Park.Lunch at the Polonnaruwa Rest House.
After lunch walk to the new Cultural Triangle Museum at Polonnaruwa.

At Polonnaruwa - another “World Heritage Site”, see the beautiful remains of the Vata-da-ge- a unique design of the Sinhalese Architects, and the beautiful Moonstones unique to Sri Lanka.

The beautiful buildings Thuparamaya and Alahana Pirivena monuments including Baddaseema Prasadaya, Lankatilake-a massive structure with vaulted roofs of brick are architectural marvels of the 12 th Century and the Galvihara Temple has the best sculptured Buddha Statues in Sri Lanka, if not in the entire world.
Evening return to hotel.(80 km one way- 1 ½ hurs). Dinner & overnight stay at the KANDALAMA HOTEL, Kandalama.

Day No: 3
Description: After breakfast visit Dambulla Cave Temples to see more than 21,000 square feet of paintings on the walls and ceilings of the 5 caves, more then 150 Buddha Statues and Statues of Gods & Kings.
At Matale visit ** Matale Heritage Centre of Mrs. Ena de Silva (a close friend & collaborator of
Mr. Bawa and contributed designs to very many of his projects) and visit “Aluvihara Kitchen”
for lunch where Rice is provided with 32 different curries-an adventure in Sri Lankan cuisine.
See the special artistic designs used in Batiks at the Center.
Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Audience Hall, remains of the old Royal Palace and other sites.
At Peradeniya visit the Royal Botanical Gardens to see some of the 5,000 species of trees and plants in the gardens,
the circle where Heads of other countries have planted memorial trees and the Orchid House.
Late afternoon leave for Nuwara Eliya and Bandarawela (215 km. 5 ½ to 6 hours).
Dinner & overnight stay at the (HILL CLUB, Nuwara Eliya) or BANDARAWELA HOTEL, Bandarawela

Day No: 4
Description: After early breakfast visit the ** Bandarawela Chapel of the Good Shepherd's Convent (designed with Mr. Ulrik Plesner).
Bandarawela Chapel, constructed by using granite for the structure and the Good Shepherd's Convent.
Then leave for Tissamaharamaya via Ella, Wellawaya and Wirawila.
On the way visit Dowa Cave Temple to see the murals in the cave and the rock-cut Buddha Statue dating to 8 th Century.
At Nugeyaya turn right and proceed to Buduruvagala to see the tallest rock-cut Buddha Statue(51 feet high) and 6 other Mahayana Statues dating to 8 th Century.
Lunch at the Tissamaharama Resort (Rest House) or Oasis Hotel, Hambantota.

Visit ** CLAUGHTON HOUSE (Fitzherbert House) at Dickwella.
Then leave for Galle. On the way see the ** Ruhunu University Campus and the ** Matara Office building designed by the late Mr.Bawa.
At Galle visit the Dutch Fort- “A World Heritage Site”. See the Old Dutch Church c. 1752 constructed as a thanksgiving
by the wife of the Commandeur Casparous de Jong, for the gift of a child.
Visit the Bastions including the Sun, Moon, Star,
Zwart (with the old water-gate and
hidden entrance identified as the Santa Cruz Bastion of the Portuguese ),
Akesloot (where the first Breadfruit tree was planted by the Dutch), Old Gunpowder Magazine ( Kruit Magezijn) ,
Aeloes, Triton, Neptune and other Bastions (175 km.5 ½ to 6 hours).
Dinner & overnight stay at the ** LIGHTHOUSE HOTEL, Galle (or ** TRITON HOTEL, Ahungalle).

Day No: 5
Description: Morning visit the House of ** Mr. A.S.H.de Silva, Woodward Mawatha, Galle
(subject to approval and will be limited to ground floor only). Lunch at the ** Triton Hotel, Ahungalle. Afternoon visit ** Duchini / Jayakoddy House, Bentota (subject to approval only), ** Bentota Beach Hotel, ** Bentota Tourist Village, and ** Lunuganga – the Country Residence of Mr. Bawa and in the evening Tea at Lunuganga (opened on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only). Evening inspect the ** CLUB VILLA to see the design done by Mr. Bawa
(65 km.1 ½ hours).
Dinner & overnight stay at the CLUB VILLA, Bentota.

Day No: 6
Description: Morning visit ** Mohotti Walauwwa, Bentota, ** Blue Water Hotel, Wadduwa and ** Continuing Education Centre, Piliyandala.
Afternoon visit ** Mr. Geoffrey Bawa's residence at No. 11, 33 rd Lane, Bagatalle Road, Colombo 03 and see the Mahaweli Headquarters Building at the Hyde Park Corner, from outside and ** Sri Lanka Parliament at Sri Jayawardhanapura, Kotte.

Dinner at ** Gallery Café (Mr. Bawa's former Office) and listen to a talk by Mr. Channa Daswatte.( 65 km. 1 ½ hours).
Overnight stay at the GALLE FACE HOTEL, Colombo.

Day No: 7
Description: Transfer to Airport for departure
