Customs Duty on Tobacco Items

Sri Lanka Customs & Excise has prohibited the Duty Free importation of Tobacco Items. Any visitor regardless of nationality bringing items of Tobacco into the country will be liable to pay Customs Duty.

Day 01

Arrive by flight……..at……….and you will be transferred to the arrival terminal. Please clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. The Jetwing Travels Representative will page you by your name (For assistance please call our 24hrs on line mobile no ++94 777 287837). Thereafter you will be assisted to the Car park to begin you journey as per the booked itinerary.

Proceed to Colombo and check-in at the hotel.

Day 02

After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya. En-route visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.

Certainly an enjoyable time from an elephant point of viewPinnawela elephant orphanage.PINNAWELA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE- App. 55 miles from Colombo , off the Colombo - Kandy road is Pinnawela, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The number of elephants has increased to more than 65 now; including Baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as some of the more then 25 babies born, as a result of the captive breeding programme.

And also a visit to the Millennium Foundation, familiarizing with the day to day activities of the foundation and for those who wish, an Elephant ride.

On completion proceed to Sigiriya and check-in at the hotel.

Afternoon driving around the environs of Sigiriya and Habarana – to view the hot spots of Elephants.

Day 03

Early morning climb the Sigiriya Rock Mountain .

SIGIRIYA – is a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island . It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace , Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels still shining in their original colours.

Return to Hotel for a late breakfast. Rest of the day at leisure.

Afternoon enjoy a jeep safari at Minneriya National park or Kaudulla National Park to view the annual congregation of Elephant herds in the “ tank” bed of Minneriya/Kaudulla. At times these could number over a 100 individuals.

On completion return to the hotel.

Day 04

After breakfast enjoy a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park .

Afternoon enjoy the adventures of an Elephant back ride in Habarana. This elephant back safari will take you through the beautiful path, which covers dry zone forest, streams and will be an unforgettable experience .

On completion return to the hotel.

Day 05

After breakfast drive to Kandy . Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Royal Botanical Gardens . Kandy Temple has strong cultural bond with elephants for centuries. At present, the best example of the use of tamed elephants in Sri Lanka is the annual "Kandy Esala Perahera" (held in July/August), which is one of the most important religious festivals for Buddhists.

  P103Royal Botanical Gardens - 147 acres in extent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Gampola and Kandy . There are more than 5,000 species of trees, plants and creepers. Some rare and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world are found in the gardens. Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists.

There are 5 Palm Avenues beautifying the gardens, the earliest and tallest Palm Avenue ( Royal Palm Avenue ) was planted in 1905 and the Double Coconuts from the Seashells Island , with the largest seed of all plants in the world is one such avenue.

 On completion check-in at the hotel.

Day 06

After breakfast drive to Negombo and check-in at the hotel.
