Yala

Yala is mainly popular for Yala National Park. The park is the most visited and is also the second largest national park in Sri Lanka. Yala is located on the south-east coast of Sri Lanka and extends over two provinces of Hambantota district of southern province and Monaragala district in Uva province. It consists of five blocks, and is host to several ancient civilizations namely Sithulpahuwa and Magul Vihara. Usually, the climate is hot and dry in this area. The entryway to Yala National Park is Tissamaharama and the distance from Colombo to the Yala National Park are 312kms. The park provides jeep with a guide.
